FeaturePreparationApplicationCleaningFeature Johnstone’s Joncryl is a high quality, acrylic resin based combined primer and undercoat formulated for interior and exterior use on new or bare wood, plaster, hardboard, cement and brickwork. It provides a low odour, quick drying, high opacity alternative to solvent-based primer and undercoat. A great undercoat for use under acrylic trim finishes. Quick drying, low odour application. Suitable for interior and exterior use on wood, plaster and masonry. A water-borne combined primer and undercoat based on a high quality acrylic resin. Preparation All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material. Prime bare surfaces with the appropriate Johnstone’s Primer. Rub down previously gloss painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly before applying a pre-coat of Johnstone’s Joncryl Water Based Primer Undercoat. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. Seal absorbent surfaces with a coat of Acrylic Eggshell thinned up to 10% with clean water. If more than one can of a colour is to be used in the same area, intermix before use. Do not apply in temperatures below 10°C. Cleaning Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Replace lid firmly. Clean equipment immediately after use with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.
